EcoAllene® is a product of recycling, yet it boasts the most important properties of a raw product: consistency and uniformity of supply.

virgin plastic is made from crude oil, whereas the source of EcoAllene® is waste * from food packaging, which is consistent over time in terms of composition and characteristics.

This allows EcoAllene® to be consistent and repeatable over time and in all lots that we supply to our clients, allowing them to work with it the same as they would a raw material, with consistent parameters of transformation.

This avoids the troublesome continual adjustments typical of “recycled materials” from heterogeneous plastics; furthermore, it means that, unlike plastic, the price of EcoAllene® is not subject to the volatile price of oil.

EcoAllene® satisfies the following common requirements in the plastic sector, especially when compared to other raw or recycled materials:

  • a 100% green product.
  • a huge and constant availability of source material: in fact, the presence of polylaminates inside food packaging is guaranteed due to regulations concerning protection of content both from contamination and UV radiation;
  • completely recyclable: it comes from a product with low technical content, and so it is always treated, which means products made with EcoAllene® can be recycled in the same way as the source material;
  • ease of process: the consistency of the source material of EcoAllene® is a guarantee of the repeatability of its process parameters over time and from lot to lot.

Definition

EcoAllene® is a new and innovative material derived from recycling polylaminates (made up of a plastic layer and a metal layer).

A new ecological plastic material is created, with a wide variety of uses, recycling objects which would otherwise end up in incinerators and landfills: cartons for drinks and packaging for liquid foods, bags for oily products, packaging for candy, “non-compostable” capsules for hot drinks, etc.

 Products are created through a patent-protected production process, granted by the Swiss company REPLAN Global Sagl, which is the exclusive holder of the trademark, patent, technical experience, and processes used in creating EcoAllene®.

The innovation lies in the production process for treating waste: instead of separating the two or more components (plastic film + metal film), they are kept aggregated in a new formula through the patented process.

This innovation reduces the cost of recycling, allowing for an important competitive advantage of the end product in terms of marketability, compared to the material which is its direct competitor, virgin plastic derived from crude oil.
